Events of EIACP
Patna, June 5. On the occasion of World Environment Day, EIACP (Environment Information, Awareness, Capacity Building and Livelihood Programme), which is a resource partner of the Centre for Studies on Environment and Climate (CSEC) at ADRI and is under the aegis of the Ministry of Environment, Forest, and Climate Change (MoEF&CC), Govt. of India, organized an awareness-cum-sensitization drive featuring this year’s theme of ‘Land Restoration, Desertification and Drought Resilience’ in Patna today. This program aims to encourage school students to participate in and get to know about environmental conservation in Bihar. On this occasion, the EIACP Centre held a drawing, craft, letter-writing and short-skit competition on the aforesaid theme of World Environment Day at the premises of Kilkari Bihar Bal Bhawan and Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya Patna Sadar, Kurji in Patna.
A total of 366 participants took part in this event consisting of different mediums of expression but based on the same theme. The venue was located at Kilkari Bihar Bal Bhawan and Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya. Participants who excelled in these different activities were awarded with first, second and third prizes in each category.
A video presentation and lecture on the subject of climate change and its impacts, land restoration, etc. followed the contest and it was delivered by Ms. Pooja Kumari of CSEC-ADRI. Dr. Sunil Kumar Gupta, Ms. Anshuman, Mr. Gulshan, Mr. Sanjeev and Mr. Vibhas Dutta of CSEC-ADRI were also present on the occasion. Mr. Digvijay, Ms. Ankita, Mr. Rupesh and others represented the Kilkari side. Dr. Sunil Kumar Gupta of CSEC-ADRI proposed a Vote of Thanks.
