Patna. February 19. The series of training programs for hospitals about the upgraded TMS 2.0 portal of the flagship Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY) health scheme continued today. They have been conducted by Centre for Health Policy (CHP) at ADRI and Bihar Swasthya Suraksha Samiti (BSSS).
The session commenced with the Team Lead, CHP-ADRI Dr. Suraj Shankar delivering the Welcome Remarks. Subsequently, the AO of BSSS, Shree Shailesh Chandra Diwakar declared that the AB-PMJAY beneficiaries are not supposed to make any out-of-pocket expenditures while getting treatment as an inpatient or undergoing any day care procedures. However, there is no provision for any investigations and OPD (Out Patient Department) cases under this scheme. Senior Medical Officer of BSSS Dr. Arshad Ayub stated that the scheme provides for a coverage of up to Rs. 4 lakhs for kidney transplants. IGIMS-Patna has done a number of such transplants successfully under AB-PMJAY.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Gurinder Randhawa of the State Anti-Fraud Unit of BSSS explained how Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools are being used at the national level by National Health Authority (NHA) to detect where frauds are being done. Dr. Neeraj Kr. Singh, Director-Healthcare of BSSS reported that there must be a minimum interval of 15 days between the bookings of two different packages under the scheme. Shree Santosh Jha, Director-IT at BSSS advised the hospital administrators to not give the hospital’s ID to others as it can easily be misused. Shree Prakash Chandra Jha, IT Manager of BSSS charted out the normal process flow of the portal. He also said that medico-legal cases are very rare in the case of private hospitals. Dr. Alok Ranjan, Director-Operations and Mr. Ritesh Mishra, CB & IEC Manager of BSSS also guided the attendees.
Around 105 personnel of private hospitals in Patna District like Dr. Bimal’s, Big Apollo Spectra, Medi-World Hospitals participated in this training programme. The Closing Remarks were delivered by Shree Indrajit Goswami of CHP-ADRI.
