Homage to Professor Muchkund Dubey
26 Jun 2024

Patna, June 26. The Asian Development Research Institute (ADRI) pays homage to the former Foreign Secretary of India, Professor Muchkund Dubey, on his passing away this afternoon by reminiscing on his long and invaluable association with the institute. He steered the ADRI Institute (the academic body) in its nascent years as a very alert and vigilant Chairman from 1992. He had gracefully accepted ADRI’s offer to become the Chairman when he came to Patna to attend an ADRI seminar on the Free Market Economy. He along with Arvind N Das provided guidance to Professor P.P. Ghosh and Dr. Shaibal Gupta during ADRI's early years.

He continued to maintain a very lively and extensive relationship with ADRI till his death. He provided exemplary leadership when ADRI undertook the survey on Socio-economic and Educational Status of Muslims in Bihar in 2004.

Among his other notable feats was the submission of the report of the Common School System Commission, of which he had been made the Chairman by Chief Minister Shree Nitish Kumar, within the prescribed period set by the government. He has left an indelible mark as an insightful and passionate development thinker. ADRI will miss him enormously.
