Events of EIACP
Patna 25 March. Centre for Environment, Energy and Climate Change (CEECC) at Asian Development Research Institute (ADRI) hoisted Green Skill Development Program on River Life Management in collaboration with BSPCB under the patronage of the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEF&CC), GoI. The purpose of this program is to produce skilled man-power residing along Ganga stretch in Bihar who can contribute in cleaning and managing the Ganga River. The course will include rigorous training on Effluent Treatment Plant / Sewage Treatment Plant / Combined Effluent Treatment Plan (ETP/STP/CETP). For the course, 20 students from Patna, Danapur, Sonpur and Hazipur area have been selected, who will undergo the training for one month. During the orientation program of GSDP, held on March 25, 2019 at ADRI, keynote address was delivered by the Prof. A. K. Ghosh, Chairman, BSPCB and opening remarks by Prof. P.P Ghosh, Director, ADRI.
Dr. Abinash Mohanty, Director, CEECC briefed everyone about the River Life Management Programme during the orientation of GSDP students. He mentioned about the vision of MoEF&CC through Green Skill Development Program. Prof. A.K. Ghosh discussed about the grave condition of the Ganga River and immediate actions required to improve the status of the River. He compared the conditions of the Ganga River 20 years ago and now, which is fearsome looking at the increasing pollution trend every year. Prof. P.P. Ghosh welcomed the students at CEECC-ADRI and encouraged their enthusiasm for being part of such an important endeavour of cleaning Ganga. He also reminded the contribution of every citizen towards the health of our Rivers. He also mentioned how the contribution of GSDP students after the training may further be utilized for achieving targets set under Ganga Cleaning Program. The GSDP training on River Life Management will start from March 26 to April 26, 2019. Ms. Prangya, Information Officer, CEECC, presented an overview of the course pedagogy. Team members of CEECC enrolled GSDP trainees and representatives from other stakeholders were present during the program.
