Events of ADRI (Patna - Ranchi)
Patna, July 24. Dr. Ashmita Gupta took over the stewardship of Asian Development Research Institute (ADRI) today. She has been designated as the new Member-Secretary of ADRI. ADRI has recently suffered from the passing away of its two stalwarts: Professor Prabhat P Ghosh and Dr. Shaibal Gupta over a short period of time.
Dr. Ashmita Gupta holds a PhD from the University of Houston in the USA. Subsequently, she worked in the Netherlands and at the Indian Statistical Institute, Chennai. Her research work has been published in reputed Economics journals like the IMF Economic Review and has been quoted in the distinguished magazine Forbes.
Dr. Ashmita Gupta is the daughter of the eminent social scientist late Dr. Shaibal Gupta who had worked for Bihar’s quest for development over the last three decades while being at the helm of ADRI. He has received many national and international accolades, including the Padma Shree (posthumously) for his efforts. She plans to realize her late father’s dream to make ADRI an outstanding research institute with a heart towards the well-being of the people of Bihar.
