Source Apportionment Study for Patna

The Centre, in collaboration with TERI, has conducted source apportionment study of air pollution for Patna agglomeration. This study has been carried out using receptor modelling approach for two subsequent seasons (summer and winter) during 2019-2020. It has been  planned that similar studies may also be carried out for other non-attainment cites (Gaya and Muzaffarpur) of Bihar in future. The expected outcomes of this study would help in developing database of season-wise multi-pollutant air quality levels for such cities, database of PM10/ PM2.5 by chemical characterization and source contribution which attributes  to the prevailing PM10/ PM2.5 concentrations in the region.
