A policy analysis was carried out to evaluate the status of solar energy utilisation in Bihar and Rajasthan. The study argues that the geographical location of Rajasthan is more favourable than Bihar in terms of solar energy and Rajasthan solar energy policy is more conducive to attract private investment. The declining in solar power tariffs has encouraged good investments into the sector but has raised concerns over the long-term sustainability of the projects.
