Brief Profile:

Dr. Kathinka Sinha-Kerkhoff received her PhD in 1995 from the University of Amsterdam (UvA) in the integrated social sciences (including history). Since, she has been affiliated to ADRI in different capacities. Meanwhile,she carried out research sponsored by numerous national and international organisations. She lives and works in Ranchi (Jharkhand) and has published widely. Her main research topics are sociology of education, communalism, history of commodities, migration and mobilities, borders and borderlands, gender and youth (ethnicity and anthropology),Indian diaspora, and modern Indian history in general.
