About Organization
The Centre for Studies on Environment and Climate (CSEC) at the Asian Development Research Institute (ADRI) is a research think-tank and an EIACP Resource Partner under the aegis of the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEF&CC), Government of India. The Centre’s research majorly focuses on Water Resource Management, Air Quality Management, and Climate Change Adaptation, Energy Efficiency and Governance, and Resource Sustainability. The Centre is looking for a qualified GIS Officer to support the EIACP programme led by the Centre in Bihar.
Roles and Responsibility
- The individual will be engaged in collection, management and analysis of geospatial data.
- Preparation and compiling evidence-based policy research and implementation to develop scientific outcomes such as thematic databases, newsletters.
- The individual will be responsible for all data related matters such as collection, compilation, storage, processing and reparing it for wider dissemination.
- To provide overall support to the implementation of EIACP programme in Bihar.
Desired Qualification, Experience & Skill
- Masters in Science or Engineering, with a working knowledge on Remote Sensing and GIS.
- Proficiency of handling Arc GIS, Q-GIS, ERDAS-Imagine, Google Earth Engine.
- Statistical programming proficiency like Python, R, etc.
- Professional understanding of stakeholder engagement, communication and outreach, training and awareness, field survey.
Remuneration
The position is purely contractual, and the consolidated monthly emolument will be around Rs 35,000 which is negotiable depending upon relevant experience and skills.
