About Organization

The Centre for Studies on Environment and Climate Change (CSEC) at the Asian Development Research Institute (ADRI) is a research think-tank and an ENVIS Resource Partner, under the aegis of the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, India. The Centre’s research majorly focuses on Water Resource Management, Air Quality Management, Climate Change and Vulnerability, Public Finance and Governance, and Resource Sustainability.

The Centre is looking for a highly skilled ‘Interface Developer’ to design a creative front and backend user interface of a dynamic data-driven dashboard. The Developer is also expected to develop an architecture and algorithm for a website.

Desired Qualification

Bachelor’s or Master’s of Engineering/ Information Technology/Computer Science with relevant experience in more than two similar projects. Knowledge of database management and artificial intelligence, with special reference to the development sector or public policy, would be an advantage.

Expected Engagement

Major involvement is expected to be in designing front and back-end user interfaces for a dynamic dashboard for the climate change and environment sector. This will be primarily a database inventory/ repository where different data sets can be routed for dynamic policy inferences;
In addition, the developer involvement is also expected to design an architecture of an organization's website to host the dashboard as well as act as a landing page to share various sets of organismal information;
Since both tasks would be software-based, the developer is expected to work in close coordination with the final software development agency/ team.

Preferred Experience and Skills

Excellent knowledge of SQL queries for databases like MySQL, Postgres, Oracle. Working knowledge of version control like git, Javascript Angular JS, CSS, HTML 5, MVC frameworks like Rails, Laravel, Spring, Node js would be an advantage;
Core competence in Java and ability to write complex code in one or more programming or scripting languages, such as PHP, JavaScript, Ruby, Python. Detailed understanding of application architecture and algorithm design with strong database management skills;
Ability to design front and backend services and to create integrated database management systems on cloud platforms like AWS, etc. A strong understanding of data analytics and artificial intelligence used for database management or data inventorisation would be preferred.
