Back Ground
Aysuhman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojna (AB-PMJAY), a health insurance scheme covering 100.74 million deprived families across the country, was launched by the Government of India in September 2018 with the twin objectives of providing financial protection from out-of-pocket expenditure on health events that have catastrophic consequences and improving access to quality secondary and tertiary hospitalisation services. Eligible families have annual risk cover of Rs. 5 Lakh per family per year and can access a range of more than 1591 secondary and tertiary care procedures up to the annual sum assured.
Bihar is one of the 33 states implementing AB-PMJAY since September 2018 and accounts for more than 10 percent of the country’s total PM-JAY eligible population. A total of 10.8 million families (45 percent of Bihar’s total population) are covered under the scheme.
Asian Development Research Institute (ADRI) is a Patna based research institute working in the area of social science research since 1991. The Centre for Health Policy (CHP) at ADRI has been set up to act as a policy think-tank for the Department of Health, Government of Bihar and also provides need-based systems strengthening support. One of its mandates includes providing technical and systems strengthening support to the Bihar Swasthya Suraksha Samiti (BSSS) for AB-PMJAY in Bihar.
Qualification:
Essential
- B.Tech/ BE in Computer Science/Information Technology from AICTE/ UGC recognized institution/ university, Or
- MCA/ BCA from AICTE/UGC recognized institution/university.
Desirable: M Tech (Computer Science/ IT).
Experience:
- Minimum 5 years of work experience in IT for setting up and managing database systems.
Summary of Roles and Responsibilities:
- Configure database servers, identifies database requirements, analyse department applications, programming and operations, evaluating existing systems
- Design, develop and maintain required reports using SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), PostgreSQL, Power BI
- Recommends solutions by defining database physical structure and functional capabilities, database security and access, data back-up, and recovery specifications.
- Maintains database performance by calculating optimum values for database parameters, implementing new releases, completing maintenance requirements, evaluating computer operating systems and hardware products.
- Prepares users by conducting training, providing information, resolving problems.
- Supports database functions by designing and coding utilities.
- Schedule and perform regular server maintenance
- Provide end-to-end technical support and problem resolution.
- Optimize database schemas, queries and reports.
- Data analysis to verify solutions are correct.
- Database monitoring and troubleshooting.
- Undertake any additional responsibilities given by CHP-ADRI/BSSS.
Desirable skills:
- Strong understanding and knowledge of the principles and practices associated with database maintenance and administration
- Familiarity with data languages and principle of data design
- Ability to operate effectively with people at all levels
- Excellent Communication & Presentation Skills.
Duration of Service:
Initially for nine (9) months, subject to renewals based on satisfactory performance and requirement under the TA support.
Duty Station:
This position is based at BSSS- Head Office in Bihar or any such designated place.
Salary Offered:
Compensation for the position would be competitive and based on previous salary history.
