Center for Health Policy (CHP), is a Bihar-based think tank that has been established to conduct high quality research on health systems design and policy, and engage with the state government for data-driven policy decisions. CHP, funded by Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, is housed within the Asian Development Research Institute (ADRI) in Patna – a social science research institute, which has been the leader on social science and economic research in the region and also houses the Center for Economic Policy & Public Finance (CEPPF) and the International Growth Center (IGC).
CHP is looking for a dynamic and experienced Executive Director to drive the vision and mission of the organization. The Executive Director is expected to lead the team of experienced academics and practitioners in conducting research and analytical studies on existing health system improvements and system redesign, coordinate dissemination of research conducted by CHP through regular government meetings, conferences, seminars, workshops, public debates and digital publications. The Executive Director is expected to provide evidence-based inputs to decision-makers in the state of Bihar and build formal networks and alliances with global and regional institutions to bring the best of cutting edge research and analysis to the decision-making process in Bihar.
The Executive Director should be a doctorate in public health/ economics/ health system/ management or a related field with proven research experience of at least 15 years and aptitude in health studies. Proven experience in institution building and leading teams of scholars is highly desirable. The Executive Director would report to the Board of CHP, comprising of leading policy-makers, global experts and scholars in the field of health and economics and representatives of global multi-lateral agencies. The compensation will be approx Rs. 54.00 lakh per annum (equivalent to USD 80600.00 at current rate of exchange). Proven research experience will be interpreted to mean publications in peer-reviewed journals with high impact factor. This position is based in Patna and would provide a challenging and highly satisfying opportunity for the right candidate.
