Brief: The study “State Effectiveness, Bureaucratic Management Practices, and Citizen-State Interaction in India” is a collaboration between the Asian Development Research Institute (ADRI) and the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). The purpose of this study is to better understand management practices, motivation, and performance of bureaucrats tasked with policy implementation.
Position: Data Analyst
Duration: July 2024 to March 2025
Number of positions: One
Place: Bihar
Responsibilities:
- Monitoring and analysing incoming data from a large-scale survey (quality control)
- Backend programming and server maintenance
- Preparing analyses/visualisations of data (survey data and secondary data)
- Digitalisation/cleaning of data
Required:
- Bachelor/Master in related discipline (Data Science, Computer Science, Economics, etc.)
- Excellent knowledge of Stata/R (at least one)
- Knowledge of survey methodology and experience with SurveyCTO
- Good working knowledge of Python and JavaScript
- Good working knowledge of econometrics
- Knowledge of spatial analysis (in either Python, R, or Stata)
- Experience in managing cloud platforms like AWS
- Knowledge of server maintenance and setup
Desirable:
- Familiarity with common datasets (such as NSSO surveys, SHRUG, etc.)
- Familiarity with Tableau for data visualisation
- Familiarity with using machine learning approaches for data digitalisation
- Previous experience of working in/with public sector
- Previous experience in working with an international team of researchers
Remuneration:
Based on qualifications/experience salary between Rs 75,000 to Rs 85,000 per month will be offered to the deserving candidate. Interested and eligible candidates are requested to send their CV at adripatna@adriindia.org by 30th June, 2024
