Professor Joseph E Stiglitz was in Patna on the invitation of Dr Shaibal Gupta, member-secretary of ADRI, to deliver the ADRI Foundation Lecture on January 14, 2013. ‘Redefining Capitalism' was this year's topic. Prof. Stiglitz talked about the need to adopt a cautious approach towards FDI in retail and spoke at length on how economies worldwide need to find a right mix of capitalism, state and civil society. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi, Education Minister P K Shahi were among the dignitaries present on the occasion.
